Emily Tam
Registered Dietitian
Helping people enjoy food, eat well, and feel good about themselves is my jam.
Areas of Specialization
Nutrition counselling
Disordered eating and eating disorders
Chronic dieting
Weight concerns
Diet culture is not my jam. I therefore do not promote the pursuit of weight loss or needless food restriction. I am more likely to discuss with you what you can add to your diet than recommend what you should take out. Adding is way more fun!
I am a graduate of the Master of Public Health - Nutrition and Dietetics program at the University of Toronto. I have experience providing nutrition counselling in various community-based settings and have been involved for many years with the National Eating Disorder Information Centre.
I am a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
My practice is fully virtual at present and is connected to:
The Station Clinic
545 Wilson Avenue
Toronto, Ontario
I recognize that my practice is based on land that is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat, and is now home to diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. I also recognize that Tkaronto (Toronto) is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands. As a settler, I acknowledge that I have a responsibility to address the harms resulting from colonialism and commit to honouring the land and its Indigenous heritage.
